So today, I got into this error “We couldn’t sign you in. please try again.” I had just installed Manjaro and I found out I was not being able to log in to the Microsoft teams client with my email.
I was able to log in to my Microsoft account, Outlook, and everything; it was just problem with Teams.
I was getting “We couldn’t sign you in. please try again.” error in both browser and Microsoft Teams Insiders client.
What’s the issue?
Searched a bit and found out, it was quite a common problem with a very simple solution. It is a Time Zone problem and simply changing the Time Zone solved my issue.
Solution to ” we couldn’t sign you in. please try again.”
I just changed my time zone for my device and it worked. I was able to login in both browser and desktop client. Once logged in, I changed the time zone back to my original.

Here’s a quick guide for setting system time in Manjaro.
In the terminal:
timedatectl set-ntp true
This will list all the timezones. Choose yours and then:
timedatectl set-timezone [your timezone]
timedatectl set-timezone Asia/Kathmandu
Finally, check that your time has been updated.

Just these steps, and you must be able to sign in to your Teams client now. And once signed in, you can change back to your original time.
